Making Your Block of Love
Who Can Contribute?:
- Anyone affected by Dravet Syndrome can contribute (siblings, parents, carers, grandparents……..)
Criteria for your Block of Love :
- 8 ½” square of 100% cotton fabric (only use the fabric we provide). Design must be within a 7 & ½” inch square (I will need the ½ ” all the way around for a seam). This block will be supplied to you by us.
- You are to decorate your “Block of Love” in anyway that you wish. Use crayons, paint, markers, thread, professional embroidery, photo transfer, or any other medium to design the square. Please feel free to include the name of your Dravet child.
- A Companion Letter should accompany your “Block of Love”. This letter should summarize what the square represents and how this person has changed your life, contributed to society, overcome obstacles, etc. Your Dravet child’s name, birth date, current place of residence (not address, just city, state, country) should also be included.
- A Photograph of your child (your family) is optional, but would be nice, too.
If you are interested in contributing to the quilt, the first step is to email Kimberly Skriba kim.s@idea-league.org . Let Kim know how many blocks you will like to contribute, with your name and address. Please don’t buy the material; the block will come to you in the mail with instructions. We are asking for a $10 contribution for the construction of the quilt. But no block will be turned down for the inability to pay. We want everyone to participate and all children to be represented. This can be sent when you send in your square.
Donations towards the construction of the quilt can be made here (via PayPal) but don’t forget to mark the contribution as being for the quilt, this is done within PayPal.
